Closure of UNMHA

The United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) was established on 16 January 2019 pursuant to Security Council resolution 2452 (2019) to support the implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement in Yemen. Its mandate concluded on 31 March 2026, and United Nations support to peace efforts in Yemen continues under the leadership of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY).

The threat of landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW) impacts the daily lives of civilians all over Yemen, with Yemen in the top five of countries of most impacted by explosive devices.

Through its Security Council resolution 2452 (2019), UNMHA is mandated, among other priorities, to oversee Mine Action operations in the Hudaydah governorate, the most impacted governorate within Yemen.

UNMHA is continually reinforcing its support to Mine Action in Hudaydah and has been supporting the humanitarian mine action interventions led by the Resident/Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen.
