UNMHA and OSESGY discuss transition arrangements with the Government of Yemen Redeployment Coordination Committee delegation

In the context of Security Council resolution 2813 of 27 January 2026, a joint team of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) and the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General (OSESGY) led by UNMHA Officer-in-Charge, Ms. Mari Yamashita, held online consultations with the Government of Yemen delegation of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) on 26 March 2026. Discussions focused on joint achievements by the RCC, residual tasks and transition arrangements to OSESGY. UNMHA and OSESGY reaffirmed the commitment of the United Nations to continue supporting the implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement and the importance of sustained communication and cooperation in support of stability in Hudaydah and in Yemen.

Following the consultations with the parties to the Hudaydah Agreement over the past months, UNMHA completes the transfer of its residual tasks to OSESGY and ceases its operations on 31 March, in accordance with Security Council resolution 2813.
