Closure of UNMHA

The United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) was established on 16 January 2019 pursuant to Security Council resolution 2452 (2019) to support the implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement in Yemen. Its mandate concluded on 31 March 2026, and United Nations support to peace efforts in Yemen continues under the leadership of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY).

#WomensDay2023: Meet the women working to implement UNMHA's mandate

UNMHA has been working in Yemen’s Hudaydah governorate since 2019 to oversee the implementation of the Agreement on the City of Hudaydah and its Ports.

The Mission is dedicated to championing gender equality and women empowerment in the implementation of its mandate.

On this year’s International Women’s Day, meet these two women who are challenging gender stereotypes through their work with UNMHA.
