Closure of UNMHA

The United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) was established on 16 January 2019 pursuant to Security Council resolution 2452 (2019) to support the implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement in Yemen. Its mandate concluded on 31 March 2026, and United Nations support to peace efforts in Yemen continues under the leadership of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY).

UNMHA Urges Parties to Respect the Hudaydah Agreement and Protect Civilians in Hudaydah Governorate

HUDAYDAH, 5 June 2023 – The United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) expresses deep concern over the recent reported ceasefire violations south of the Hudaydah governorate involving civilian casualties and damage to civilian infrastructures.

UNMHA calls upon the parties to fully implement their commitments under the Hudaydah Agreement and to adhere to their obligations to protect civilians under international humanitarian and human rights law.

UNMHA also calls on the parties to respect their commitments to protect civilians, including women and children, and civilian facilities.
