Closure of UNMHA

The United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) was established on 16 January 2019 pursuant to Security Council resolution 2452 (2019) to support the implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement in Yemen. Its mandate concluded on 31 March 2026, and United Nations support to peace efforts in Yemen continues under the leadership of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY).

Excerpt from the Press briefing of the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General

On August 25 at the UN Secretary-General's Noon Briefing, the Spokesperson expressed concern over the latest escalation between Israel and the Houthis. The Secretary-General calls for an immediate cessation of all military activities to prevent further regional destabilization and a worsening humanitarian crisis in Yemen. All parties must respect international law.
