UNMHA and UN Women Yemen Convene Feminist Summit Side Event

Yesterday, UNMHA and UN Women Yemen co-organized a Feminist Summit Side Event, bringing together women from Hudaydah to amplify their voices, expertise, and lived experiences. The dialogue created a safe platform for local women to discuss the unique protection risks they face, their role in humanitarian response, and their contributions to peace and community resilience.

Participants shared challenges related to displacement, livelihoods, and safety — but also showcased leadership, ingenuity, and solutions emerging from within their own communities.

This gathering strengthened collaboration between UN entities and women leaders at the local level and carried a clear message: women in Hudaydah are not passive beneficiaries of support, they are driving peace and recovery efforts every day.
