Silence the guns - UNMHA HOM calls for Hudaydah ceasefire

HUDAYDAH, 1 April 2020 — The Head of the United Nations Mission to support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) Lt. Gen. Abhijit Guha expresses his grave concern about the increasing tensions in the Hudaydah area.

He welcomed the support both parties have pledged to the UN Secretary General’s call for an immediate global ceasefire.

“Silence the guns, stop the artillery, and end the airstrikes,” he said.

In light of the current COVID-19 global pandemic, General Guha said that it is ever more important to adhere to the ceasefire in Hudaydah to protect women and children in the governorate from further hardship and suffering.
