Closure of UNMHA

The United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) was established on 16 January 2019 pursuant to Security Council resolution 2452 (2019) to support the implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement in Yemen. Its mandate concluded on 31 March 2026, and United Nations support to peace efforts in Yemen continues under the leadership of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY).

UNMHA Head of Mission expresses condolences after passing of Col Mohamed Al Sulehi

HUDAYDAH, 21 April 2020 — The Head of UNMHA and chair of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) General Abhijit Guha expresses his deep condolences after the passing of Colonel Mohamed Al Sulehi of the Government of Yemen.

General Guha is well aware of the Government of Yemen’s concerns and intends to discuss further with its Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) team on the best way to address those concerns.

UNMHA continues to work on creating a conducive environment for the resumption of the work of the RCC amid challenges triggered by the COVID-19 global pandemic. General Guha counts on the commitment of both parties to move forward with the implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement.
