Closure of UNMHA

The United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) was established on 16 January 2019 pursuant to Security Council resolution 2452 (2019) to support the implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement in Yemen. Its mandate concluded on 31 March 2026, and United Nations support to peace efforts in Yemen continues under the leadership of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY).

UNMHA Head of Mission meets with GCC Secretary-General as part of regional consultations

UNMHA Head of Mission Major General (rtd) Michael Beary met with His Excellency Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh.

General Beary commended the GCC for its pivotal role in organizing the intra-Yemeni-Yemeni consultations held under its auspices earlier this month and expressed UNMHA’s keenness to engage in the wider UN/GCC collaboration towards the shared objective of bringing peace and stability to the people of Hudaydah and Yemen.
