UNMHA Head of Mission concludes visit to KSA and Jordan
UNMHA Head of Mission Major General Michael Beary concluded a week-long visit to Saudi Arabia and Jordan yesterday.
In Riyadh, Maj. Gen. Beary met with the Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Dr Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber, the Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces Command General Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi, and the Director of Civil-Military Operations Major General Abdullah Al-Hobabi.
Maj. Gen. Beary discussed Hudaydah's significance in the UN Special Envoy's broader peace efforts, including intensifying the Mission's monitoring efforts and coordinating the advancement of mine action in the governorate. He also held bilateral discussions with representatives of the UN Security Council members, whom he briefed on the situation in Hudaydah and engaged on the Mission's mandate.
Maj. Gen.Beary concluded his regional consultations yesterday in Amman, where he met with the Ambassadors of the EU, Ireland and Germany and humanitarian actors.
