On 12 September 2024, UNMHA Head of Mission (HOM) Maj. Gen. (ret.) Michael Beary, briefed the Security Council in closed consultations. He reported on latest political developments affecting Hudaydah governorate, against the backdrop of ongoing ceasefire violations along the frontline. UNMHA HOM elaborated also on his recent high-level engagements, including in the context of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC). As the recent flooding caused an increase in mine incidents, Maj. Gen. (ret.) Beary conveyed deep concern over landmines and explosive remnants of war contamination in Hudaydah governorate.
