Monitoring and Patrolling

UNMHA Head of Mission General Michael Beary led a verification patrol team in Hudaydah city accompanied by the co-chair of the RCC from the Sana’a authorities, General Mushiki in May 2022

Monitoring and patrolling are core aspects of the work of the United Nations Mission to support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) to monitor compliance of the parties with the ceasefire in the Hudaydah governorate and the mutual redeployment of forces from the city of Hudaydah and the ports of Hudaydah, Salif and Ras Isa. Accordingly, UNMHA regularly undertakes visits to these ports and their environs.

These visits provide a key opportunity to not only formally observe and report on the military manifestations within these areas and other developments on the ground, but also to understand the requests for support from the parties. The Mission also conducts visits in areas in the south of the Hudaydah Governorate as possible.
